Terms of Service

These terms apply when you book a photography session with Mikey Hearson Photography (ABN 33 180 655 963).

Booking

• Enquiries are made via the contact form or direct email.
• A non-refundable booking fee secures your session date.
• Remaining balance is due on the day of the session unless otherwise agreed.
• Rescheduling with 7+ days notice: free. Rescheduling with less than 7 days notice: forfeits the booking fee.

On the day

• Sessions run for the duration agreed during booking.
• Hair, makeup, wardrobe, and location are your responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
• If you bring a support person, they are welcome but do not participate in directing the shoot.

Images

• You receive a private online gallery within 2 business days of the session, for selection.
• Final retouched images are delivered within 14 business days of your selection.
• Image licensing is for personal use — social media, prints, gifts. Commercial use (paid-for modelling portfolios, agency work, print advertising) requires a separate agreement.
• I retain full copyright of all images.

My portfolio use

• I may use session images in my portfolio, on this website, on Instagram, and in other marketing unless you tell me otherwise at time of booking.
• For Bound sessions: images are private by default; portfolio use requires your explicit written consent.
• You can request removal of an image from public use at any time — it will be removed within 7 days of request.

Delivery

• Gallery delivery: 2 business days after the session.
• Final images: 14 business days after your selection.
• Additional edits ($45 each) delivered within 7 business days.

Travel

• Travel is free within 15km of Hope Island, QLD.
• Beyond 15km, travel is $0.70/km one way.

Cancellation and refunds

• By you, 7+ days notice: refund of all paid amounts except the booking fee.
• By you, less than 7 days notice: booking fee forfeited, remaining amounts refunded.
• By me (illness, accident, equipment failure): full refund or reschedule at your preference.
• Weather cancellations: we reschedule; no refund needed.

Bound sessions

Additional terms apply due to the nature of the work:

• Session is $1,600 flat.
• Includes a pre-session consultation call, 2–3 hour shoot, and 20–30 retouched images.
• All tying/binding is performed by a qualified practitioner I engage separately. I can recommend names.
• You can stop the session at any time, for any reason, without justification.
• Images are private by default (see “My portfolio use” above).

Liability

Session is at your own risk. You accept that some sessions (fire, pole, bound, outdoor) involve inherent risks. I carry public liability insurance but you should bring your own personal insurance for high-risk activities.

Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
